Why travel with us

Local planning.
Not a template.

We're based in Bhutan. Every itinerary we build comes from knowing the country firsthand — the roads, the season timing, the places that don't make it into guidebooks.

01
Local knowledge, not copy-paste itineraries

We write your route from scratch. The Bhutan we know includes the side roads, the quiet dzongs, the right tea houses at altitude — not just the top-ten list.

02
Flexible trips, your pace

Solo traveller, couple, family, friends, or a larger group — we shape the route around your pace, interests, comfort level, and travel dates.

03
Honest guidance before you book

We'll tell you what's worth the drive and what isn't. If a detour adds two hours for a lukewarm payoff, we'll say so. You get better advice, not a longer invoice.

04
Support from arrival to departure

Your guide, your driver, your hotel check-ins — all coordinated. If something changes mid-trip, we're reachable and we fix it. No overseas hotlines, no long waits.

Before you travel

Bhutan basics,
clearly explained.

A few things worth knowing before you start planning.

Visa & Entry

Most nationalities require a Bhutan visa, processed through your tour operator. We handle the paperwork. Indian, Bangladeshi, and Maldivian nationals follow a separate process.

Sustainable Development Fee

The SDF is USD 100 per person per night. It's part of your daily rate and funds Bhutan's conservation and social welfare programmes.

Best Time to Visit

Spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) offer the clearest skies and most comfortable conditions. Festival season often falls within these windows.

Flights into Bhutan

Paro International Airport is Bhutan's only commercial airport. Druk Air and Bhutan Airlines connect from Bangkok, Singapore, Delhi, Kolkata, Kathmandu, and a few other hubs.

Hotels & Accommodation

Bhutan ranges from boutique heritage properties to comfortable mid-range hotels. We match accommodation to your budget — you won't be placed somewhere we wouldn't stay.

Guide & Transport Included

All Bhutan trips require a licensed guide and registered vehicle. These are included in your package — no hidden additions. Your guide manages permits and on-the-ground logistics.

About us

A small team.
A real place.

Ema Datshi Tours is a Bhutan-based travel company helping guests experience Bhutan through local planning, meaningful routes, and honest guidance.

We're named after Bhutan's national dish — chilli and cheese, simple and essential. That's how we approach travel planning: nothing added for show, nothing left out that matters. We work with travellers from the USA, Europe, Australia, Singapore, Japan, and beyond — people who've done their research and want a partner, not a package.
